This setup guide provides step-by-step instructions on integrating SMTP2GO and Groupmail Web. Groupmail provides its own comprehensive setup guide which you can utilize.
Step 1
In the Groupmail app, click on your profile in the top right menu and choose “Integrations”.
Step 2
Click the “+ New Integration” button. This will open the Add Integration page shown in Step 3.
Step 3
On the Integrations page, complete the steps including:
- In the “Name” field enter an integration name.
- The “Integration Type” will be set to “SMTP2GO (Email Delivery Service)“. If you do not yet have an SMTP2GO account, you can use the “Sign-up” button to create a free account which allows Groupmail customers 10,000 emails per month. If you already have an existing SMTP2GO account, you can continue using that.
- Enter an API Key from your SMTP2GO account’s “Sending > API Keys” section.
Note: You will need to enable “Open Tracking” and “Click Tracking” from the ‘Tracking & Status” tab in your API Key’s settings. Also, you will need to ensure it has the “email/send” endpoint enabled on the “Permissions” tab (this will be on by default when the API Key is created). - Enter the “From name” that will appear on emails (optional).
- Enter the “From Email” address.
Note: This must be an email address that is a verified sender either via Sender domain or Single sender email. This is managed on the “Sending > Verified Senders” section of your SMTP2GO account. We recommend verifying the domain as a Sender domain to ensure the best deliverability rates as your domain will have SPF and DKIM alignment. - Enter a “ReplyTo Email” address (optional).
- Copy your Webhook URL which you will need to add to your SMTP2GO account’s “Settings > Webhooks” section. Click the “Add Webhook” button, enter your URL into the “URL” field, choose the “API key” you created as the “User“, select the events you wish to see in Groupmail (all are recommended) and finally add the custom headers “X-GMCM” and “X-GMCC” to the “Headers” field. You can then click “Test” to ensure the Webhook is working correctly and then click “Save“.
- Finally, back on the Groupmail Integration page, click the “Test” option in the top-right corner to send a test email and then click “Save“.
Step 4
You are now set to send email from this new account within Groupmail.
